It is with great
sadness and love that I write this
obituary for my
loving
father-in-law, Delmar Ray
Ramey, age 62, of
Mousie,
Kentucky, husband of Virginia
Wallen Ramey. He
passed away on
Monday,
April 11, 2005,
at the Appalachian
Regional Hospital in Hazard,
Kentucky.
He was born on
April 18, 1942, in
Knott County, Kentucky, the
son of the late
Rex and Nora Hicks
Ramey. He was a disabled coal
miner and a
member of the Rock
Fork Old Regular Baptist Church at
Garrett. Delmar
was a faithful
member and, if he was able to do
anything at all,
he was at church.
He loved the church dearly.
In addition to
his wife, he is
survived by three sons, Ricky (Teresa
Ann) Ramey of
Martin, Kentucky,
Jimmy Ray (Anna Mae) Ramey
and Robbie Brent
Ramey, both of
Mousie, Kentucky; three grandchildren,
Travis Brent
Ramey, Cody Blake
Ramey, and Casey Brandon
Ramey; three
brothers, Denver,
Charles and Michael Ramey;
and four sisters,
Edith Patton,
Verda Wallen, Vicky Lynn Ratliff and
Pamela Sue Short.
In his
lifetime Delmar had many good and dear
friends. He loved
traveling with
his wife, Virginia.
He also loved taking his
grandchildren
fishing and
roasting marsh-
mallows over an open fire out back
of his home.
Delmar was loved and
is missed.
