Laura Inez Webb of
Olive Hill, Kentucky, died
on May 26, 2004
at home. Laura’s
birth occurred on October 18, 1918, to Pleasant
Jackson Gilliam
and Sarah Ethel Qualls. Laura lived 85 years, 6
months, and 8
days.
She married Rueben Paul Webb on June 3, 1939,
at the home of
Pastor Joe Hicks.
Reuben and Laura Webb parented eight children.
Laura lived to
enjoy 23 grandchildren, 13 great
grandchildren and
one greatgreatgrand child.
She was preceded
in death by her husband,
Rueben Webb, in
1997. Also preceding Laura in death
were her
siblings, Ernest Gilliam, Kermit Gilliam,
Herbert Gilliam
and Lena Rose. Three son-in-laws,
Franklin
Burchett, Tallmadge Bailey, and Stanley Rayburn preceded
Laura in death.
Laura loved the church. She enjoyed membership
at the Little
Mary Old Regular
Baptist Church. Prayers and visitation by members
sustained Laura
during home confinement. Brothers Lonnie
Gregory and
Junior Ruggles took care of services at the funeral home
and at the grave
site.
