Nora
Raleigh passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at
the
Whitesburg
Applachian Regional Health Care Center. She was born
on April 26,
1918, being 86 years, 5 months of age at the time of her
passing. Nora was
the widow of Reverend Wesley Raleigh, who
preceded her in
death on November 10, 1981, and the daughter of
Harve and Stella
Ison Day.
Nora and Wesley were married on January 12,
1944.
She is survived
by one daughter, Sweila Raleigh
Coots and
husband, Jerry Coots of Kingscreek: one
brother, James H.
Day of Westchester, OH; one sister,
Dalna Ingram of
Ingrams Creek; two grandchildren,
Gregory Wayne
Coots and wife, Maxie, and Scarlett Renee Hall; and four
great grandchildren,
twin boys, Jack
and Nicholas Madden, Sara Coots and Sydney Coots
all of
Kingscreek, KY. One great granddaughter, Samantha Hope
Coots, one
brother, Owen Day, and one sister, Lauana Raleigh, preceded
her in death.
Nora joined the Old Regular Baptist Church and
was baptized on
the first Sunday
in September, 1961. She enjoyed being a member of
the church. Many
good times were had at her home on Kingscreek
with family,
neighbors and members of the church.
We all miss her very much. Our loss is
Heaven’s gain.
