Elder William Sherman Tackett was the son of
Farish Tackett and Selana Phipps Tackett. Elder
Tackett was born on August 15th, 1924 in Magoffin
County, Kentucky. He married Mary C. Slayton
Tackett on May 10th, 1946. He was the father of three children; two
daughters, Marilyn J. Siedee of New Whitehead, Indiana and Kathryn
I Cooprider of Jasonville, Indiana; one son, Bennett L. Tackett of
Juneau, Alaska; and six grandchildren. Elder Tackett passed away on
December 27th, 2004 at North Vernon, Indiana. He was a member
and moderator of the Big Creek Old Regular Baptist Church in
Dupont, Indiana.
